A Sweet Treat!
With the continuing sunshine this year, we couldn't resist the opportunity to invite the Ice-Cream Van back! Residents and colleagues thoroughly enjoyed their ice-creams, with the most requested treat being a large cornet with two flakes!

Happy Hour Hydration
This summer has been incredibly hot, which makes drinking well even more of a priority. Among our strategies for improving fluid intake, Highview has been holding 'Happy Hours' with a selection of fruity mocktails, non-alcoholic beers amidst a party atmosphere! This has been a popular addition to our activities, with our Pina Colada's being the most requested cocktail, followed closely by our Sunrise.
Watch this space for smoothies, milkshakes and steamers to encourage good fluid intake, which helps to reduce infection risk and therefore support reduced antibiotic resistance.

Fundraising for Macmillan!
In September, Highview took part in 'The World's Biggest Coffee Morning' and with the support of our staff and visitors, raised over £120.00 for this worthy cause. Thank you everyone who took part or donated!
Beating the heat!
Staff and residents loved our visit from Bournemouth Ice Cream, who arrived during one of the warmest weeks of the year! Jane and Chantelle selected sundaes, but vanilla ice-cream with strawberry sauce was the most popular choice! One brave visitor went for sherbet as a topping, which, as you might remember is eye-wateringly sour!

Making the News...
After visiting Highview during Care Home Open Week, Bournemouth East MP, Tom Hayes highlighted the importance of care work both locally and nationally. Highview received not only a mention in the Bournemouth Echo, but also in the Houses of Parliament!
Celebrating Culture
In 2024,Highview held it's first Celebration of Culture Week, in which staff and residents educated and entertained each other with stories, songs and foods from cultures that they feel part of. Valued Senior Care Worker Liz, wore the national dress of the Philippines, cooked amazing national dishes and even sang! Salamat Liz!
